Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2 June 2025
Welcome to Meaty Runners (“we”, “our” or “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, membership services, events, communications channels, and any other offerings we provide (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Services.
1. Definitions
- “Member” or “You”: Any individual who registers for membership, subscribes to our newsletters, joins our mailing lists, participates in our events, or otherwise interacts with our Services.
- “Services”: All content, features, events, training sessions, forums, newsletters, and other offerings made available by Meaty Runners Running Group.
- “PII” (Personally Identifiable Information): Any information that can be used to uniquely identify, contact, or locate a single person. Examples include full name (beyond first name), date of birth, home address, telephone number, email address, social security number, passport number, financial information, or any government-issued identification number.
2. Eligibility and Access
2.1 Age Requirement
- You must be at least 16 years old to register as a Member of Meaty Runners Running Group.
- If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to join and must comply with all provisions of these Terms.
2.2 Residence
- Although membership is open to anyone in England, certain events or training sessions may be location-specific. All Members are responsible for ensuring they can safely and legally participate in any in-person events they register for.
2.3 Registration
- To access certain parts of the Services (e.g., members-only newsletters, booking event entries), you must complete our registration form and provide accurate information.
- You agree not to create an account on behalf of another person or misrepresent your identity.
3. Prohibition on Sharing PII via Public or Unsecure Channels
3.1 No PII in Public Messages
We provide various channels for communication, including public message boards, chat groups, social-media pages, and open comment sections. You must not share any PII (as defined above) in any message you post via these public or unencrypted channels.
If you need to share sensitive or PII (for example, emergency contact details for a particular event), you should use our secured, private channels only (e.g., encrypted email address or a direct messaging service we have explicitly designated as secure).
3.2 Consequences of Sharing PII
- Any Member who posts PII in a public or unsecure channel may have that content removed. We are not responsible for any harm or loss you may suffer if you voluntarily disclose PII in a public area.
- Persistent violations may lead to suspension or termination of membership at our sole discretion.
4. Membership Fees and Cancellation
4.1 Membership Fees
- We may charge annual or monthly membership subscriptions, event-entry fees, and/or fees for specialised training sessions. All fees will be clearly displayed before you commit to payment.
- Payments must be made in British Pounds (GBP). We accept major credit/debit cards and other methods as indicated.
4.2 Renewal and Refunds
- Memberships automatically renew unless cancelled at least 14 days before the renewal date.
- Event-entry fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Meaty Runners Running Group. In extenuating circumstances (e.g., injury), we may offer a transfer to a future event at our discretion. Any request for a partial or full refund must be submitted in writing at least 7 days before the event date.
4.3 Cancellation by You
- You may cancel a paid membership at any time via your online account. No refunds will be issued for the current billing period, but you will not be charged thereafter.
- If you cancel an upcoming event entry less than 7 days before the event, no refund or transfer will be permitted unless extraordinary circumstances apply (at our discretion).
5. Code of Conduct
5.1 Health and Safety
Running can be strenuous. You confirm that you are in good health and have no medical condition that would prevent safe participation.
If you have any doubts, please consult your doctor before participating in any training session or event.
5.2 Respectful Behaviour
- All Members and participants must treat fellow runners, volunteers, and staff with respect. Harassment, bullying, discriminatory language, or any threatening behaviour will not be tolerated.
- Any dispute between Members should be resolved privately and not aired on public forums; if necessary, notify the Group’s committee, who will mediate.
5.3 Prohibited Actions
- Impersonating another Member or falsifying any information.
- Posting or exchanging content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringing upon intellectual property rights.
- Sharing links to unapproved third-party training programmes or supplements that violate UK advertising regulations (for example, unlicensed performance-enhancing drugs).
5.4 Disciplinary Measures
- We reserve the right to warn, suspend, or terminate any Member who breaches this Code of Conduct. Where appropriate, we may also report serious misconduct to law enforcement.

6.3 User-Generated Content
By posting content (e.g., comments, photos, performance data) to our Services, you grant Meaty Runners Running Group a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use, reproduce, adapt, distribute, and display that content in connection with our Services (e.g., sharing race photos in our gallery). You represent and warrant that you own or have permission to use any content you share.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
7.1 Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy (link) explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data. By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with that policy.

8.4 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Meaty Runners Running Group, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, expenses, or demands, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your violation of any law or third-party right, (c) your negligence or willful misconduct, or (d) any PII you improperly disclose in public or unsecure channels.
9. External Links and Third-Party Services
9.1 Linked Websites
Our Services may provide links to third-party websites or resources. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on such sites. Accessing them is at your own risk.
9.2 Third-Party Payment Processors
All payments for memberships and event entries are processed through third-party payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal). We do not store your payment card details. Please review the terms and privacy policies of those providers.

10.1 By You
You may terminate your membership or unsubscribe from our communications at any time via your account settings or by contacting us at contact@meatyrunners.co.uk.
10.2 By Us

11.3 Informal Resolution

12. General Provisions
12.1 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
12.2 Waiver
No waiver of any term or condition shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term, and our failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
